Background
Sludge management is the most difficult and costly challenge facing the waste water industry today, comprising 50% of plant operating costs. Current waste treatment processes digest only about half of the incoming solids, with the remaining half generating sludge. The result is production of some 30 million tons of sludge each year in the U.S alone, a mere 10% of worldwide quantities. Sludge disposal is a significant global environmental problem, and its costs are skyrocketing both in the US and worldwide.
ACT’s proprietary technology dramatically increases the efficiency of the WW treatment process. It extracts, rather than digests, the bio-solids in raw sewage, reducing total sludge formation by up to 75%. In addition, it can significantly reduce odor problems associated with sludge.
ACT's integrated solution increases waste water processing efficiency, produces high quality alternative energy sources, and reduces GHG emissions from the plant.
